Our Story
Monarch Pool Care was established in 2006 by Ruth and Len Garavalia after they installed their own swimming pool and learned how difficult it can be to care for if you aren’t well trained. When they scoured the area to find a reliable swimming pool care company, they realized there wasn’t one, so they took it upon themselves to learn.
Ruth and Len worked together to learn all they could about swimming pool care, service and maintenance. They went to classes to maximize their knowledge and ended up falling in love with the swimming pool and spa industry. What started as a 2nd job from home has turned into a reputable, well-respected swimming pool care company, meeting the needs of the Northern Virginia area, including Stafford, Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania and portions of the Prince William, Fauquier and King George county areas.
As the company and employee count grew, the Garavalia’s, along with their niece Mary, opened a store in Stafford in 2007. Family-owned and operated Monarch Pool Care continues to provide the same exceptional customer service, knowledge and professional care on which the company was founded.

We take pride in our extensive knowledge of pool and hot tub service and maintenance, and that’s why we’ve dedicated ourselves to always improving our understanding of the ever changing industry. All of our senior staff maintain various certifications through the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals, the National Swimming Pool Foundation and the National Plasterers Council.
All of our service technicians annually attend multiple classes and have proudly earned one or more of the following certifications: the Certified Pool Operators (CPO); Certified Maintenance Specialist (CMS); Certified Hot Tub Technician (CHHT); Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO); Certified Service Professional (CSP); and National Plasterers Council (NPC) Start-Up Specialist.
